Launched in 2010, the Women in the City Future Leaders Award recognises the achievements to date and the leadership potential of fast-track women in the early stages of their career.
Our rigorous judging process means that every submitted Application Form is viewed by at least three members of the Candidate Selection Panel in order to determine the top 20 which are discussed at a meeting with the members of the Adjudication Panel. These judges select 10 candidates to go forward for interview with the Main Judging Panel.
This final interview stage is often described as “the most difficult I’ve had to date” but it’s not meant to be easy. The Judges are less concerned with technical and functional ability than leadership potential. They’re asking demanding and challenging questions to assess each candidate who needs to pitch her answers to resonate with the different backgrounds and interests of the Judges.
As one Finalist said, “It wasn’t until I had to present to the Executive Board that I realised how similar this was to the FL Award interview process.”
The short-listed candidates will be released mid-May and the 5 Finalists and Winner will be announced at the Celebration Dinner on 19 June.
