It is an incredible honour for me to be shortlisted for this award. As an academic working at UCL, London’s Global University, I see the focus, ambitions and mission of the university as rapidly changing. This recognition highlights to my institution that I have the skills and drive to thrive and make a difference in this new era.

Professor Jane Dacre, Director, UCL Medical School, University College London
Her resilient approach, and ability to lead a team in a collaborative way. She has implemented huge change in a very resistant environment. Her approach has been strong, but fair, and always positive. Deborah is a very talented young woman. Recently, she has realised that she is able to make things change for the better and has gained confidence and status locally. National recognition from an organisation like Women in the City would further boost her impressive career trajectory. As a potential role model for others, she achieves this alongside a role as a GP and a mother.
