About ICAEW

ICAEW is a world-leading professional membership organisation that promotes, develops andsupports over 146,000 chartered accountants worldwide. We provide qualifications and professional development, share our knowledge and technical expertise, and protect the integrity of the accountancy and finance profession.

Our members advise over 1.5 million businesses, and along with other professions, we face the challenge of improving the pipeline of female leaders in finance. It is more important than ever for businesses to reflect how they create work environments that inspire talented people, whether male or female and from whatever background, to become the business leaders of tomorrow.

ICAEW has developed a number of initiatives to support gender equality in the workforce. Our ‘Women in Leadership’ and ‘Back to Work’ programmes are designed to work with women returning to work and within the workforce to provide advice, networking opportunities and CPD programmes that give women opportunities to get ahead. We focus on developing our members throughout their careers. This includes regularly holding focus and research groups to identify the barriers facing women and contributing to policy debates.
