Head of Digital Media & Creator, Digital Futures, Telefonica
Being a finalist and sharing this with nine other stellar women is a brilliant, surreal feeling. When my family labelled me the ‘storyteller’ back when I was 9, who would have known this would become my vocation! I’m trying to forge ahead as a media leader in an industry (tech) that remains male dominated, and nominations like this really help keep the momentum going.
Voted one of 100 people “making digital Britain tick”, Shivvy is the creator of ‘tech-for-good’ video series Digital Futures (youtube.com/digitalfutures) and Head of Digital Media for innovation leader Telefonica.
As Asian Women of Achievement winner for 2015, TED Global’s curator labels Shivvy “a brilliant connector bringing together ideas, organisations and people”, and the World Economic Forum’s Director insists “her expertise and spirit make her a media leader beyond compare”.
Richard Poston, Global Director of Public Affairs, Telefonica
TED Global’s Bruno Giussani testifies: “Shivvy exhibits a remarkable capacity to uncouple the relevant from the mere buzz”. Voted one of 100 people ‘making digital Britain tick’, this self-made media leader created a highly lauded YouTube series on the impact of technology on our lives and an award-winning innovation hub. The creative storytelling is a long-standing passion – she was filming on her father’s video camera at 8 and writing for national papers by 14! This Britain’s Women of the Future finalist mentors 8 youths and is cited a ‘catalyst and connector’. Her sincerity simply shines through.
