Nick Andrew’s career started out in the old merchant banks in the City (Hill Samuel & Co, Charterhouse Bank) and he has remained within the financial sector since then. He has had many roles in a diverse career including head of the credit risk management department at a commercial and trading bank (Daiwa Europe Bank), running the credit research functions within the fixed income division (Daiwa Europe Bank), on the Board of a large multi-disciplined broker/dealer (SLK Global Markets) and managing the prime broker access for compliance within the equity division of an investment bank (Goldman Sachs).
In 2003, Nick established and continues to run a compliance and regulatory company in the UK (Mpac Limited). The company has expanded to offer more than just its original core business and now crosses all sectors within the financial industry in the UK and worldwide. He will be launching a compliance driven peer to peer firm in Q4 (subject to FCA approval).
Nick also sits as an independent non-executive director for the UK subsidiary of Wells Fargo; was until recently, on the Board of the UK trading subsidiary of KAS Bank NV of the Netherlands; a part time lecturer at two universities together with various other directorships in other companies predominantly in the financial sector. He also is general advisor to editor of the CISI magazine Change.
Outside of work Nick has been a Governor of the local primary school, chairman of the village Fete Committee, a trustee of the scout group, is a past chairman of the Candlewick Ward Club, and a judge in one of the categories of the Sustainable City Award. Nick is a keen skier, and given time, he would tinker longer with classic cars, spend more time researching historical events, gardening, wood turning and bee keeping.
