Mind the GAAP
Love it or hate it, if you’re going to lead a company, you need to be confident and able to understand how to read and interpret financial information. This presentation will provide a quick overview of the main financial statements and what they don’t tell you about a business’s financial performance.

Gavin qualified as an ICAEW chartered accountant in 1998. He then moved with PricewaterhouseCoopers to South Africa, taking on the role of audit and training manager. On return from South Africa to the United Kingdom in 2000, Gavin joined BPP Professional Education as a lecturer in financial reporting, auditing and financial management and was made the director of finance and tax programmes in 2007.
Gavin joined ICAEW as the head of innovation and technical development in 2009 and has been responsible for the development of new qualifications at the institute. In March 2010 Gavin became the director of qualifications and is responsible for all qualifications offered by ICAEW including the flagship ACA qualification. Gavin is also involved in a number of World Bank funded twinning projects involving the training of trainers in the delivery of IFRS worldwide.
Gavin is an expert in International Financial Reporting Standards as well as in UK GAAP and US GAAP and has delivered training to over 14,000 students and delegates from over 2,000 organisations during his 13 years as a trainer.
